Privacy policy
Short version: SwordHUD does not collect, store or transmit personal data to anyone. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party code that talks to the internet.
This download. The free download from this website includes the Music and Spotify Now Playing strip, Shortcuts actions, unread badges and the connection to a local Ollama server, and the items below about those features apply to it. A separate, more limited edition prepared for the Mac App Store leaves those features out.
What the app does with your information
- Preferences. Your choices (which widgets show, layout, shortcuts, quick bar) are saved on your Mac in macOS user defaults.
- Clipboard inventory. SwordHUD keeps a list of what you copy so you can paste from it. The list lives in memory while the app runs. Only items you pin are written to your Mac, in the app's own folder. Copies made in password managers are ignored. You can clear the list at any time.
- Calendar and Reminders (optional). If you allow access, SwordHUD reads upcoming events and due reminders on your Mac to show them as tasks, and marks a reminder complete when you tap it. This information is never sent anywhere.
- Music and Spotify (optional). If you allow Automation, SwordHUD asks those apps for the current track so it can show it and send play, pause and skip.
- Accessibility (optional). Used only to move and size other apps' windows and to paste into the app you were using. SwordHUD does not read or record what is in those windows.
- Network. SwordHUD has no servers. Its only network use is an optional connection to a local Ollama model server on your own Mac (127.0.0.1), and opening a web search in your own browser when you ask it to.
What we do not do
We do not track you across apps or websites, build a profile of you, sell or share data, or use advertising identifiers. This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
Your control
You can turn off any optional feature, revoke Calendar, Reminders, Automation or Accessibility access in System Settings > Privacy & Security, and remove saved data by deleting the app and its folder.
Children
SwordHUD collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
