Swish Notch
Privacy policy
Short version: Swish Notch does not collect, transmit or share any personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no code that connects to the internet. Everything it reads and keeps stays on your Mac.
What the app does with your information
- Files you throw. When you drag a file toward the notch, Swish reads where the file is and what it is called from the drag. It shows the file’s name and its icon on the court. It does not read what is inside your files. Swish keeps a protected bookmark to a file only so it can carry out the move you chose.
- Where a made shot sends the file. AirDrop, Messages and Mail hand the file to the macOS sharing service you chose; Swish never sends anything itself, and what happens next is between you and that Apple service. Trash moves the file to the Trash with macOS, and Put Back can return it for a short time. A pinned folder moves the file into the folder you picked. The File Tray keeps a copy in the app’s own storage, and the copy is removed after one day or when you remove it.
- Your choices. Sound, haptics, options and your pinned folders (kept as folder bookmarks) are saved in the app’s own container on your Mac.
- Play stats. A few counters (shots made, best combo, days in a row, best streak) are kept on your Mac to show milestones. They never leave it.
- Pointer and keys. To know when you are carrying a file near the notch, Swish notices where the pointer is and when mouse buttons or modifier keys change. This only opens and closes the court. Nothing is recorded or stored, and Swish does not ask for Accessibility, Screen Recording, Input Monitoring, camera, microphone or location access.
- Folders. Swish can read or write a folder only after you choose it in a file panel or drop a file from it, and only as macOS allows for a sandboxed app.
- Shortcuts and Services. If you use the Swish actions in Shortcuts, or “Throw in Swish” from the Services menu, macOS hands the chosen files to Swish and they are handled as above.
- Links. If you open a link from the app, such as the guide, it opens in your browser, and that website’s own policy applies from there.
- Purchase. When you buy from this website, payment, tax and receipts are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller of record under its own privacy policy. A copy from the Mac App Store is bought from Apple. Either way the app itself never connects to the internet and receives no payment details.
What we do not do
We do not track you across apps or websites, build a profile of you, sell or share data, or use advertising identifiers. This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
Your control
You can remove a File Tray copy at any time with an option-click, or all of them with Remove All, unpin a folder you pinned, and turn off sound and haptics. To remove everything Swish saved, quit it and delete the app together with its data folder in ~/Library/Containers/com.camdenburke.swish.
Children
Swish Notch collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, for example because a new version does something new with your files, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
