Getting started
ConfettiYeti lives in the menu bar and has no Dock icon. Click the icon and choose Fire, or press Shift-Command-C. Press Shift-Command-X to clear the screen at any time. Open Settings from the menu bar icon, or open the app again from Finder or Spotlight.
Common questions
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| No icon in the menu bar | Open ConfettiYeti from Finder or Spotlight. Settings opens, and General has “Show icon in menu bar”. On a Mac with a notch, a crowded menu bar can hide icons: quit other menu bar apps to check. |
| The hotkey does nothing | Settings > General > Keyboard Shortcuts. Re-record it, or pick a combination another app does not use. |
| Confetti is not showing | It may be paused (menu bar icon > Resume) or Reduce Motion may be on, which makes it lighter. Check the daily limit under Settings > General for automatic celebrations. |
| Meeting, reminder or birthday celebrations do not fire | These are part of ConfettiYeti Pro and need your permission. Check System Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars (and Reminders), and that the matching switch is on under Settings > Triggers. |
| I bought Pro but it is locked | Settings > Pro > Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple Account that bought it. Restoring is free and does not charge you again. |
| I want my money back | Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. |
| How do I stop it interrupting a presentation? | “Skip while presenting” is on by default for mirrored displays. For a shared window in a video call, choose Pause from the menu bar icon first. |
| How do I remove it? | Quit ConfettiYeti from the menu, then drag it from Applications to the Bin. Nothing else is installed. |
Scripting
Settings > Connect has copy-ready recipes for Shortcuts, shell, git, Xcode, Raycast, Alfred, Stream Deck and AppleScript. The URL scheme is confettiyeti://fire; options such as theme, sequence, occasion and amount apply to a single fire.
