What is inside the app
A database extract of cafes, restaurants, bars, bookshops, coworking spaces and activity venues in the Knoxville, Tennessee pilot area (south 35.88, west -84.10, north 36.05, east -83.80), with each place's name, kind, location and, where mapped, address, phone, website, opening hours, cuisine and a few facts such as outdoor seating. The extract is stored in the app and does not change until the app is updated.
Get the data
This extract is a database made from OpenStreetMap, so it is offered under the same license. Download it and the script that built it:
- knoxville-places.json (the extract, with its extraction date and the exact query)
- fetch_osm.py (the script that queries OpenStreetMap, keeps only what is mapped, and writes the extract)
Roomfeel's own code, design and the descriptions people write are not part of this database and are not offered under the ODbL.
Fix the map
If a place is missing or wrong, the fix belongs in OpenStreetMap, where everyone benefits: openstreetmap.org.
