Somni
Turn dreams into movies. Say or write what you remember the moment you wake, then watch it become pictures and a short film that flows from scene to scene. A free taste of your movie comes with your account.
Somni is in private testing and is not on the App Store yet.
Your words come first
A dream is saved exactly as you wrote or spoke it, before anything else happens. Somni never rewrites your words. Anything the app writes is set apart and labelled as written by the app, so you always know which is yours.
Say it before it fades
Open Somni and tap the microphone. For one tap from anywhere, put the Speak a dream widget on your Lock Screen or Home Screen, add its button to Control Center or the Action Button, or ask Siri. None of them holds any of your dream. What you have written is kept as a draft on your iPhone until you save it, and how it felt sits behind one quiet row, so saving takes nothing but your words.
Then see your night
When you want to, Somni can write a fuller telling and draw a picture for each scene of your dream. A simple dream is a few scenes. A long, strange one can be up to ten, in up to three parts. You can fine tune it: describe the people who return so they look the same in every picture, choose a look and a colour, change what any picture shows, and make a picture again for free. Before you spend anything, Somni makes a free preview on your phone from your own pictures, with your own voice telling it. If you want real motion, each scene is animated from its own picture. Choose Flow, where each scene melts into the next like one film, or Cuts, where each scene is its own shot. Your recording can play under it if you like. People are made from your words, not from a photo, so faces and clothes can change a little from scene to scene. Each step is separate, optional, and asks before anything leaves your phone. When your movie is ready, a quiet screen waits for you, and nothing plays until you press play.
Find it again
Every night appears as its picture in a gallery by month, or on a calendar where each day shows its dream. Search reads your own words. A quiet weekly recap says how many nights you wrote and who keeps coming back, without ever saying what a dream means. You can export a copy of the whole journal any time.
Private by design
Your journal lives on your iPhone, and in your iPhone's own backup if you use one. It is not stored on an account, and there is no feed, no sharing you did not ask for, no ads and no tracking. Read the privacy policy.
What it costs
Writing, speaking, a fuller telling, your pictures and the preview are free. A movie uses credits: one credit for each scene of cuts at standard sharpness, two for a scene that flows into the next, or three for the sharper 1080p version, so a ten scene movie of cuts at standard is ten credits. The price is shown before you tap. Credits live on an optional account made with Sign in with Apple, and a new account starts with 2, enough for a taste: your first scene gliding into the second. The movie can grow from it without paying for that scene again.
What Somni does not do
It does not interpret your dreams, diagnose anything, or tell you what a symbol means. It reports and illustrates what you remembered, and nothing else.
